The FBISD VOICES Summit is a district-wide conference between students from all of our Fort Bend high schools. It addresses a variety of topics while celebrating differences, learning how to strengthen our campuses, and most of all having fun. This year's summit is about influence. Influence is all about how we impact each other and the world around us. It shows up in different parts of our lives. Personally, it's the way family and close friends shape who we are and what we believe. Socially, it’s about how our community and friends set the norms and behaviors we follow. Professionally, influence is seen in how leaders inspire their teams and how careers are built. Culturally, it’s the big picture stuff—how media, art, and education shape our values and trends. Influence can often be seen as a negative factor—something else shaping our morals and ideals— but in many ways, influence can be a positive contributor to not only our lives, but the lives of our community and those around us. It is important to recognize both the good and the bad influences around us so that we can continue to grow and flourish.
